A Neurological Look At Self Discipline
Good morning,
Today we will be diving into the neurological aspects of self discipline and will power.

A Neurological Look At Self Discipline
Everybody possesses some level of willpower and discipline. While some believe individuals are inherently born with stronger discipline, and others with weaker minds and less discipline, it's crucial to note that, on a neurological level, this is not technically accurate.
The prefrontal cortex, located directly behind the forehead, governs decision-making and inhibition. Every individual has one, and the brain, akin to other muscles, requires training for optimal performance.
Now, we understand that everyone possesses the mental capacity for discipline, yet not everyone actively "exercises" that part of the brain.
For instance, avoiding accountability and responsibility weakens this part of the brain, consequently diminishing personal strength and impacting those around you.
How does this affect others?
When you fall short of being the best version of yourself, it influences those around you, including family, friends, and business partners.
Understanding more about discipline prompts the question: How can we cultivate our discipline?
If you find it challenging to be disciplined, consider factors like hormones, diet, physical exercise, and mindset. Take stock of these four elements and assess your current situation.
Ask yourself:
- Do you engage in daily workouts?
- How are your hormone levels?
- What type of thoughts occupy your mind most frequently?
Reflecting on these aspects can contribute to enhancing your discipline. I hope this information proves valuable. Stay tuned for a deeper exploration next Friday – don't miss it!
